On Monday the 13th of June, at the highest possible level, in the presence of President Tayep Erdoyan and his key adviser and representative Ibrahim Kalin, the Government and the Trade and Export Unions, honored and awarded the largest Turkish exporters, in an important important ceremony.
Regarding the olive oil sector, VERDE YAG GROUP was awarded, represented by its main owner Mr. Murat Turkal, (right photo), and the Exports Manager Mr. Bekir Sari, (left photo), as the largest Export Group of bulk and standard olive oil of all quality categories and pomace oil. VERDE YAG during the last 20 years, exports around 25.000-40.000 tons per year.
TURKAL Group, holder of the largest refinery, is the leader of the olive industry with its integrated facilities. During the last 4 years has invested 140 million euros to obtain the following facilities (all of which are the largest facilities of the industry in the country):
Olive crushing complex in Torbali (capacity of 110,000 tons of olives annually)

It should be noted that these achievements of vertical production and export extroversion occur under adverse conditions, but the great support from their Ministry of Agriculture and the Turkish state is obvious.
Turkey produces approximately 170-280.000 tons depending on the crop year. During the years of high levels of production its role in the international market is catalytic.
