Greek Universities help develop the olive sector in Jordan

Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and the Institute for Olive Tree & Subtropical Plants (Chania), Greece participate to the TEMPUS Project, aiming to develop the Jordanian olive sector.

The newly formed Olive Oil Commission of California (OOCC) already presented its recommendations on new grade and labeling standards for olive oils to the California Department of Food & Agriculture ( CDFA).

Despite the absence of the International Olive Council (IOC) from the last session of Codex Alimentarius in Malaysia, the demand of Australia, New Zealand, Argentina and USA to raise the limit for campesterol in olive oil from 4 to 4.8 percent wasn’t accepted.
